Stressed, ladies? Try ripping your old jeans to de-stress while staying up in fashion trend. Now, I am going to show you in this post how to make your own distressed jeans. (Too many puns, huh?)

DIY Time!

Things needed:

  1. Old jeans
  2. Scissors
  3. Forceps
  4. Cheese grater (optional)
  5. Patience (A MUST!)

Step 1:

After preparing your materials, decide where to put the ripped parts on your jeans. Then cut inch-wide horizontal lines as seen on the image above. This will help you remove strands easier. Length will depend on you.

Step 2:

Start loosening up edges until you are able to get a vertical strand. You may use cheese grater, or forceps or even your fingernails. Don’t be afraid or hesitant. Be as careless as you can be to achieve a natural look of a ripped jeans.

Continue removing strands from end to end point of the horizontal strip you’ve cut on step 1.

Step 3:

You may cut big holes to add more drama. As you can see, I have cut some of the strips I made on step 1. This made my project finish a lot faster actually — no need to remove strands from top to bottom hehe.

Keep on repeating the steps until you attain your desired design.

And you’re done!

 

PS. This is another way to kill your time when bored. Just make sure to finish it. It took me two days to finish mine. Good luck! 🙂
